Community Links
Schools
Adwick Park is a part of the community of schools linked to North Doncaster Technology College. We enjoy an excellent relationship with all the other schools in the pyramid, and all work together to ensure the best education possible for all the children in the pyramid. This includes sharing ideas and resources.
We have good links with Adwick Washington, NDTC and Fernbank. Fernbank provide excellent support for children with additional needs, we are really lucky to be a part of their inclusion work.
Church
We have developed a very close relationship with St. Lawrence’s Church. Our Chair of governors, Alan Moseley, is an active member of the church and works hard to share the Christian message and values with us. We have very enjoyable assemblies led by members of St. Lawrence’s. Other churches in the area are equally welcoming, but do not work as closely with the school
Businesses
Businesses within the community are always welcoming—they are happy for our children to make visits as part of their topic work, and many support us with prizes for raffles and so on. This includes businesses in Doncaster as a whole, not just in Woodlands and Adwick— for instance, year five visit the market as a part of their geography work, and the children are always made extremely welcome, the busy stallholders are always happy to find a minute to answer the children’s questions—as are the many shoppers that the children also talk to.
Children in year five enjoy using the local swimming baths at Adwick Leisure Centre for their weekly swimming lesson.
